Valentines Day 2021

Share a Note of Respect, Love and Inspiration

Hello Sisters,

Valentine’s Day is not only a day to celebrate romance between lovers and significant others; it is also a day to show love and appreciation to our family, our friends and those that support us in everyday life.

We encourage you to leave notes of respect, love and inspiration for one another on this page. We as female veterans understand our struggles better than anyone. Because of this, we are able to appreciate all that we have been through and who we are today.

Leave a comment below to post your “Valentine” to your veteran sisters.

    To my amazing Veteran Sisters,

You are appreciated. You are loved. We belong to a very exclusive group. May this day be one filled with hope, and filled with love for the things that are possible. With love and appreciation for the things that bring joy to our life. With a love, and awe for how much better the world is with you in it. Thank you for being you. Happy Valentine’s Day!

For those of us, women vets..still overcoming trauma from our past..learning to love ourselves today..

A Valentine’s prayer for all my peer veteran-women on this forum…I read everything you guys post but haven’t been participating in the zoom support meetings..I belong to a few other 12-step groups and currently have a new therapist helping me with PTSD issues..

    Imagine a Woman

Imagine a woman who believes it is right and good she is a woman.
A woman who honors her experience and tells her stories.
Who refuses to carry the sins of others within her body and life.

Imagine a woman who trusts and respects herself.
A woman who listens to her needs and desires.
Who meets them with the tenderness and grace.

Imagine a woman who acknowledges the pasts’ influence on the present.
A woman who has walked through her past.
Who has helped into the present.

Imagine a woman who authors her own life.
A woman who exerts, initiates, and moves on her own behalf.
Who refuses to surrender except to her truest self and wisest voice.

Imagine a woman who names her own gods.
A woman who imagines the divine in her image and likeness.
Who designs a personal spirituality to inform her daily life.

Imagine a woman in love with her own body.
A woman who believes her body is enough, just as it is.
Who celebrates its rhythms and cycles as an exquisite resource.

Imagine a woman who honors the body of the Goddess in her changing body.
A woman who celebrates the accumulation of her years and her wisdom.
Who refuses to use her life-energy disguising the changes in her body and life.

Imagine a woman who values the women in her life.

A woman who sits in circles of women.
Who is reminded of the truth about herself.
    When she forgets.

Imagine your self as this woman.

Love yourself, and others…It will liberate you!!

Happy Valentine’s day from Martha Muehl

    To all of my sisters-in-arms,

I love you. You’re appreciated. You’re awesome. You rock!

There’s something to said about us, when we were never drafted and we signed up; when the selective service box doesn’t apply to us and we sign up; and we go out each and every day proving that we are forces to reckoned with.

To all of my sisters of Lambda Beta Alpha Military Sorority, Incorporated, I love and am proud of each and every one of you.

    Thank you for your service!
