Online Meeting

Join us for the WVOP Networking Hour, where we invite strong members of the veteran community to come and speak about services available to all our veterans. This week we are welcoming Behkie Aguilar from JVS SoCal Veteran Peer Access Network.

Topic: Getting to know VPAN SD1 and the benefits that are available to Veterans and their families.

Behkie is a native of southern California, growing up in Orange County. Her brother served six years in the US Army, from 2001 to 2007 serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Behkie graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a BA in Criminal Justice, and then earned her master’s degree in Justice Studies. After working as a civilian in law enforcement for nearly 5 years, Behkie decided to change career paths to work in the nonprofit sector. Her brother’s transition from the Army greatly influenced Behkie’s decision to change careers and start working in veteran services.

Behkie has five years of experience working in the veteran service space. From homeless outreach to hosting events helping veterans’ transition and connect to community. She currently works at JVS SoCal’s Veteran Peer Access Network, helping link veterans with services related to housing, benefits and other supportive services.
