The United States Veterans Initiative (U.S.VETS) implements the Career Development Initiative (CDI), designed specifically to help post-9/11 veterans find and maintain employment. U.S.VETS brokers long-term relationships with employers interested in hiring veterans and offers job placement assistance, targeted career preparation, and employment retention services. CDI effectively widens overall employment opportunities for veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts who experience unemployment rates double those experienced by the civilian population.
